This contest is part of the <a href="http://en.paris-libre.org/" hreflang="en">Paris, Capitale du Libre</a> event.</p> <p>I registered <q>VLC media player</q> as the project to compete.</p> <h3>Nomination and award</h3> <p>After our registration, we were nominated for <q>Meilleur projet de développement Libre</q> or <q>The best Free Software development</q>, with two other contestants.</p> <p><strong>And we won!</strong></p> <p>Last year's winner was Mozilla Europe for Mozilla Firefox.
